Every body in the valley knows "the old customs building" erected in 1915.

From many kilometres and even before arriving in Bourg Saint Maurice, voyagers could make out this old building imposing outline.
What was first an inn, stopping place on the road to the Petit Saint Bernard Pass, was later to become an accommodation and training centre for Frenchs customs.

Disused since nearly 20 years, the main building and its annexe were still dominating the valley, sad sentry keep watching the road to Italy, to the great regret of the village residents.
Today, after 2 years of restoration, the Val Joli rises from its last century foundations. The inn lets voyagers and holiday makers in again, offering catering, lounges, suites and rooms equipped, from now on, with the modern conveniences in an authentic building.
